Tortoise and the Hare B.O.M.B.S., Take 4

It was a balmy 56 degrees this morning with 12 PAX choosing the DRP.  Our Q was in a hurry to get started so we started with a brisk mosey lap and jumped right into it:

The Thang: Partner B.O.M.B.S.

YHC tried, once again, to get the Tortoise and the Hare B.O.M.B.S. formula down.  The core concept is simple, pairs of two men are responsible for a B.O.M.B.S. circuit (see below). Partner one (the Hare) starts with the first set of exercises while partner two (the Toroise) starts around the parking lot.  The trick is to get the Tortoise to slow down enough so that the Hare can catch him.  Today, we tried to slow the Tortoise down with zoo movements (see below)

The B.O.M.B.S.

  • 5 Burpees (50 per pair)
  • 10 Outlaws (100 per pair)
  • 15 Merkins (150 per pair)
  • 20 Big Boy Sit-ups (200 per pair)
  • 25 Squats (250 per pair)

The Zoo

  • Bear Crawl
  • Crab Walk
  • Bunny Hop
  • Duck Walk
  • Crouching Tiger

Once again, YHC tried a little too hard to put too much into the workout.  On paper, the B.O.M.B.S. don’t seem like enough to cover the entire workout, but in practice we were unable to finish the circuit.  I’m thinking next time we just need to let the Tortoise slowsey/walk/catch his breath instead of trying to get another exercise in.

Nice work this morning, gentlemen. We’ll get that workout routine down and done in 45 min one of these days. Feedback is welcome so feel free to call me out here or send me a private/text message with thoughts on today’s workout.
